Fancy seeing you here!?
Last night, former Pop Idol finalist Zoe Birkitt was revealed as one of the newest housemate entering the Big Brother house.
The 29-year-old professional singer previously finished 4th in the singing competition before eventually disappearing from the public eye.
But she’s not the only former reality show contestant to have returned for another shot at fame…
The 24-year-old is currently living with Zoe in this series of Big Brother. However, before joined the famous bungalow Mark appeared on not one, but two other reality series. His first taste of fame was back in 2009 when he starred in Channel 4’s ‘Shipwrecked: Battle Of The Islands’ before auditioning for The X Factor in 2011. After murdering Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl In The world,’ Gary Barlow told him: “Oh Mark, the singing was truly horrible. You didn’t sing once in tune.”
The poor guy will always be known for his toe curling rendition of Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time back in 2001 on ITV show Popstars. But despite his negative public response, Darius returned to our screens in 2002 where he eventually came third on Pop Idol. A number one single and platinum selling album followed before moving his career to the West End. In 2011 the bug for reality TV returned where he went on to win since axed ITV show ‘Popstar to Operastar’.
The daughter of football legend Paul was cast for ill-fated series Celebrity Love Island in 2006 which she went on to win. Appearances on Gladiators and Celebrity Coach trip followed before disappearing from the public eye. In 2012, however, Bianca was back singing Mary J Blige’s ‘I’m Going Down’ on The X Factor. Pre-empting her fate through song, Bianca failed to make it through to boot camp.
Things started off well for Daniel after winning a place in boy band One True Voice during 2004 series Popstars: The Rivals. However, after Cheryl & Co pipped them to Christmas number one, the band never recovered, releasing just one more single. In 2009, Daniel returned to our screens where he auditioned for the X Factor, making it through to Judges’ Houses before being sent home. However, this story has a happy ending with Dan landing himself a number one single this year as lead vocal on Sigma track ‘Nobody To Love’.
Flamboyant Andrew returned to our screens on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, coming face-to-face with his former nemesis Simon Cowell. Back in 2001 he got through to the final 50 of Pop Idol which was eventually won by Will Young.
Oh Melanie. What can we say? Well, she auditioned for The X Factor in 2008, making it to boot camp. She then returned in 2010, making it through to Judges’ houses. Melanie then came back in 2012, making it through to boot camp. Not content with being rejected three times, Melanie once again returned in 2013. She made it through to Judges’ Houses. Someone give the poor girl a break.
Before she introduced the public to glowing leotards and her love of all things GaGa on The X Factor in 2011, bonkers Kitty appeared on another reality show – ITV’s Dinner Date. working as a Britney Spears impersonator at the time, Kitty’s date consisted of her serving up food while singing a series of iconic tracks. She didn’t get selected for a second date.
Rylan initially came second on *ahem* criminally under rated 2011 reality show, Signed By Katie Price. Competing for a prize money couldn’t buy – a management contract with the Pricey, Rylan was beaten by eventual I’m A Celeb babe Amy Willerton. A controversial stint on the X Factor followed before going on to win the nation’s hearts on Celebrity Big Brother.
Believe it or not, Kim Kardashian used to work. Yes, the reality TV Queen previously appeared on The Simple Life as paris Hilton’s….wait for it…PERSONAL ASSISTANT. Paris would often use poor Kimmy as her punching bag, ordering the often-silent Kim to take on menial tasks such as colour coding her Louboutins. One sex tape later and Kim had her first of many reality shows. Her life is truly a fairytale.
