Prince Charles and Prince William will soon play vital roles as future rulers of the United Kingdom should Queen Elizabeth II decide to step down and pass on the power to the immediate heirs. The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge have, reportedly, been preparing for their future positions. Recent reports claimed that the father-and-son duo will have more prominent roles within the Royal family after they helped Her Majesty handle the ongoing controversy involving Prince Andrew.
The husbands of Camilla Parker-Bowles and Kate Middleton, reportedly, gave Queen Elizabeth II advice on how to respond to the clan’s most-recent debacle. Her Majesty is said to be furious when Prince Andrew appeared on BBC Newsnight and talked about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal with Emily Maitlis.
Avid followers of the Royal family expected Prince Charles to confront his brother about it. However, it did not happen after the father of Prince William and Prince Harry seek the advice of Prince Philip. This, according to royal editor Russell Myers, is a “significant change” that suggests Charles and William are already taking over the responsibilities of Queen Elizabeth.
“She’s been here before. She’s seen scandal, she’s seen disaster in the Royal Family and she’s dealt with it very, very well,” Russell said. “Who was here, actually, is William. He was doing an investiture and he popped down the corridor to see the Queen and, again, I think this shows the significance of William and Charles taking this role away from her,” he went on.
Russell Myers even said that Prince William met with Queen Elizabeth to talk about the issues plaguing Prince Andrew while Prince Charles was away from the Buckingham Palace. This move, Russell said, comes as no surprise since Her Majesty has been offloading some of her duties and responsibilities onto other members of the Royal family over the past few years.
During an episode of the ITV documentary “Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall” earlier this month, Prince William revealed that he has started planning on what things do to when the time comes that he will finally inherit the Duchy of Cornwall. He also discussed how being a father of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis changed his perspective as the future monarchy.
Prince Charles admitted that Prince William’s words about inheriting the Duchy and the importance of family “moved” him. “Frankly, it reduced me to tears. It did really,” he said. “Because I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him has made all the last 50 years worthwhile,” Charles went on.
