Prince William had a crush on Camilla Parker Bowles’ niece before he met Kate Middleton in the University of St. Andrews.
The Duke of Cambridge was shockingly romantically linked to the Duchess of Cornwall’s niece, Emma Parker Bowles. According to biographer Andrew Morton in his 2011 book “William and Catherine,” Prince William flirted with his stepmother’s niece.
The thing between Prince William and Emma occurred in 1999. The second in line to the throne was only 17 at the time while Emma was 25.
“He was looking lovingly at Emma and she was hanging on his every word,” an insider told the Sunday People.
“Sometimes he gazes at her so adoringly that it becomes a bit embarrassing. He looks every inch a young man who is falling in love.”
Prince William and Emma’s romance fizzled out, but they remain good friends. In fact, Emma was invited to Prince William’s royal Wedding to Middleton in 2011.
Aside from Emma, Prince William was also linked to Alexandra Knatchbull, Princess Diana’s goddaughter. A source told Christopher Andersen that the pair “were completely potty for each other.” Alexandra was “desperately in love.”
Prince William was also linked to Carly Massy-Birch. According to Katie Nicholl in her 2010 book “William and Harry,” the duke was sending “mixed signals” to Carly and Middleton. Middleton couldn’t reportedly stand Carly who was living across the road Prince William occupied.
“They could literally wave to William from her sitting room where she would sit knitting by the window, which rather grated on Kate,” Nicholl wrote.
Aside from these ladies, there were three other women in Prince William’s life that really affected Middleton.
Among these women was Jecca Craig, whom Prince William got a crush on since their first meeting. On his 21st birthday, Prince William snubbed Middleton by having Jecca sit next to him at the head table.
During Prince William and Middleton’s trial separation, the duke was linked to Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe. Prince William made amorous advanced toward Isabella, but she turned him down because she wasn’t interested in becoming a royal. Isabella was reportedly the only woman who could make Middleton “green with envy” and incite a wave of panic at the duchess at the very mention of her name.
