Recently, it was revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton would be embarking on a royal tour of Pakistan. This trip, which is the first time such high-ranking members of the British royal family have gone to the area in 13 years, comes on the heels of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returning from their own royal tour of Africa.
However, many view the five-day trip that the Duke and Duchess have set out on to be more dangerous endeavor than the one taken by the Sussexes.
According to Express, it has been called “the most complex tour undertaken by the Duke and Duchess to date, given the logistical and security considerations.” The last time that royals of their status visited the country was back in 2006 when Prince Charles and Camilla made the trip.

Per the publication, William and Kate want “to highlight the close cultural ties between the two countries,” but in doing so, the royals will “be guarded by 1,000 police officers” to ensure their safety.
Previously, it was also reported that a group of firearms officers would arrive in the country beforehand in order to “assess potential risk” as well. This will be the first time that both the Duke and Duchess have visited the country.
