Last weekend, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held their son Archie’s christening. The special gathering was only attended by close family and friends as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tend to keep their personal lives as private as possible. This was an unusual move as royal christenings are usually public events. According to US weekly, Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly “weren’t happy” about the choice.

While “the queen accepted Harry and Meghan’s decision to keep the event private,” according to a royal insider, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge weren’t as accepting of their decision.

“William thinks his brother is going overboard keeping Archie out of the spotlight,” the insider divulged.

The source also shared that they believe Prince William “blames Meghan” for his brother’s newfound interest in leading private lives.

It is thought that the private nature that Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have adopted into their parenting style is due to the fact that they want to provide a “normal” upbringing for their son. This also influenced their choice to forgo live-in staff at Frogmore Cottage.

“It’s all part of wanting the most normal family environment for Archie,” concluded a source.
