Fans of the British royal family know that Prince Charles is set to one day take over Queen Elizabeth II’s role. However, royal watchers believe that the pair’s recent outing at the State Opening of Parliament revealed quite a bit about the status of her eldest son in terms of how he is preparing for his future title.
According to Express, the 93-year-old monarch appeared with Charles at the annual event. The decision to do so inspired some insiders to claim that the fact that he was there, along with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, illustrates that the royal is being “primed to take over.” Many viewed this move as a “subtle message” from the monarch herself.

Additionally, some also believe that his presence was a way to start helping the public become more accustomed to seeing him at important royal events.
Not only did Charles help his mother to and from the throne, but he also remained by her side as she delivered her message regarding what the government should be aiming for in the coming year. Access to innovative medicines, increasing time in prison for those convicted of serious violent or sexual crimes, and creating new jobs after leaving the EU were a few of the issues on her agenda.
Aside from assisting Prince Charles transition into his future role, Kate Middleton has also reportedly begun to quietly prepare for her future as the queen, as she will claim the royal title once Prince William officially becomes the King of England. The Duchess of Cambridge was also once granted a special type of access by Her Majesty herself while visiting Balmoral that indicated a “sign of approval” from the monarch.
