Queen Elizabeth II has a unique morning routine.
Many are interested in what the monarch does regularly. According to Reader’s Digest, Queen Elizabeth II starts her day with a pot of Earl Grey tea with tea biscuits. She usually drinks her tea without sugar, but she doesn’t mind adding a little milk in it.
The Queen’s tea is poured from silver pots into a bone china cup. To make her tea time more enjoyable, she reportedly listens to the radio.
At 8:30 a.m, she joins Prince Philip for breakfast. The monarch loves Special K cereal and fruit. However, this may have changed as according to recent reports, the Queen and Prince Philip no longer lives in the same house.
Prince Philip decided to live away from Buckingham Palace, where the monarch resides, after his retirement. The Queen reportedly allowed him to do so because she knew that if he stays at the palace, he would feel obliged to get involved in their engagements. Also, the Duke of Edinburgh deserved a proper retirement.
As for the Queen’s wardrobe, she doesn’t see them before wearing them because she has no clothes kept in her rooms.
“All of her clothes are kept on the top floor, all of her costumes, she calls them. And the dresser will bring down in the morning two outfits which are sketched with pieces of material clipped,” Paul Burrell said.
Queen Elizabeth II will pick one of the two sketched outfits and her choice will be brought downstairs. Her Majesty is reportedly very particular when it comes to her dresses.
For her outfits, the Queen usually wears colorful clothes and always pairs it with a hat. According to Sophie, Countess of Wessex, there’s a reason why the Queen dresses up that way.
“She needs to stand out for people to be able to say ‘I saw the Queen,” Sophie said.
“Don’t forget that when she turns up somewhere, the crowds are two, three, four, 10, 15 deep, and someone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of the Queen’s hat as she went past.”
