Rashida Jones’ Reaction To A Reporter Describing Her As ‘Tanned’ Is Quite Excellent

Rashida Jones managed to handle a particularly awkward exchange like a pro at last night’s SAG awards.

TNT’s Danielle Demski was interviewing the 38-year-old actress, who previously played poetic, noble land mermaid Ann Perkins in Parks and Recreation, deciding to compliment her on her tan.

Hmmm.

She told Rashida: “You look like you’ve just come off an island or something, you’re very tan, very tropical.”

The bemused actress then replied: “I mean, you know, I’m ethnic.”

Cue embarrassed laughter from Danielle.

Rashida is of course the daughter of jazz legend Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton.

The two divorced when she was just 14 with Rashida deciding to live with her mother, going on to graduate from Harvard University.

Before deciding to become an actress, Rashida initially dreamed of being a lawyer.

“I wanted to be a lawyer, maybe a judge, maybe run for president – that was another goal at age six,” she previously told The Independent.

However, she decided against this after OJ Simpson was acquitted of murder in 1994. Rashida Jones’ Reaction To A Reporter Describing Her As 'Tanned' Is Quite Excellent

“I was in college and the OJ Simpson trial was going on and that was an incredibly culturally contentious moment. He got off and I couldn’t believe it – I thought what’s the point of spending the next eight years in school if the justice system is that broken?”

Rashida also went to school with OJ’s lawyer Rob Kardashian’s daughter Kim (you may have heard of her) and paris Hilton.

She joked: “They were on my bus. Can you imagine, being on a bus where two of the 10 people get famous for having sex tapes?”

Can’t say we can.
