Nothing’s officially been confirmed, sadly, but if this IS true (please GOD say it is), we might actually have a little cry in excitement.
We regret nothing.
The 26-year-old Bajan beauty released her new track, featuring Kanye and the up-and-coming star Macca (we jest, of course), at the weekend, making everyone lose their shiz.
Now, a source has told The Sun that RiRi’s now got herself a slot at the prestigious music awards alongside some of the biggest names in the music world.
CONGRATS, babe. If it’s true, obvs. Fingers, toes, eyes and everything else firmly crossed.
The source ‘revealed’: “Rihanna’s seriously pleased to have bagged a big slot at The Grammys and two huge names to kick off her comeback.
“Paul McCartney’s a Grammys regular and it will give Rihanna serious kudos to have a Beatle backing her on stage.”
AGH AGH AGH. That’s the sound of our excitement about this.
Nothing’s officially confirmed, and Ri’s reps have yet to make a comment, but we’ll live in hope.
A whole host of talent is already confirmed to be taking to the Grammys stage next month, with the line-up including everyone from Madonna, AC/DC, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran to Usher, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert and Sam Smith.
Ri announced her long-awaited return to music on Sunday night, with the stripped back track feautring her vocals complimented by Kanye’s rapping and Paul McCartney’s acoustic guitar. And trust us, it’s a pretty glorious combination. Odd, but genius.
The iconic collaboration marks RiRi’s first new material in two years, proving that she has actually been working throughout her extended time off – not just sunning herself in gloriously tropical climates.
work hard, play hard.
We’re going to go wish on a shooting star and chuck a penny down a well to try and guarantee Ri’s Grammys performance.
We NEED it, alright?!
