Every relationship is WAY better in hindsight, right?

Despite their dramatic split back in 2011, Russell Brand has opened up about his marriage to Katy Perry, claiming that he really ‘enjoyed’ it.

Hmm – not enough to actually stay married to her though, yeah?

Speaking on America’s Today Show this week, ol Russ said: “I really enjoyed it [our marriage]. Katy Perry is an amazing person.”

But although the 39-year-old, who’s promoting new book ‘Revolution’, clearly has fond memories of his 14-month marriage to the pop princess, he admitted that he was like, *totally* done with talking about it, yeah?

He added: “But I don’t really like talking about it anymore, because it feels like a thousand lifetimes ago, and also it makes me look desperate, like I need it for attention.”

To be fair, it was only a few years ago, Russ.

Katy, 29, didn’t seem *quite* as happy about the whole marriage thing, admitting that that the break-up left her ‘traumatised.’

She recently said: “It was emotionally traumatic for me. It was the death of a dream. I was in fairytale land, and the reality of it wasn’t so.”

Yeah… not quite on the same page there then.

Russell hasn’t been quite so gentlemanly about his marriage in the past, joking about the pair’s sex life during one of his stand-up shows last year.

During a show at the Soho Theatre, he said:  “When you’re a monk, you’re not allowed to have sex with anyone. When you’re married, it’s one person. That’s one more than a monk. It’s not that different.’

He added: ‘I’d be having sex thinking, “Think of anyone, anyone else”.’

Hmm.

In an interview soon after his divorce, he said: “When I was married it did work out in a way because I was  married for some time and that’s really good, and then you’re not married and that’s really good.

“We were suited for that amount of time but this is a new time.”

Yeah, we’re guessing a reconciliation isn’t on the cards then?!
