He’s faced rather a lot of criticism since going all ‘revolution’ on us, and Russell Brand was dubbed a hypocrite yet again on Thursday.
After the comedian took part in the anti-Capitalism Million Mask March in London, he apparently hot-footed it to some posh celeby theatre do… causing OUTRAGE.
Apparently some people were, like, WELL upset by the fact that one moment Russ was all ‘let’s fight for the oppressed’ then he was hob-nobbing with his celeb pals in the West End.
Venting their frustration, some Twitter users dubbed the stand-up a ‘hypocrite’ and a ‘champagne socialist’ in a pretty scathing attack.
One INFURIATED gent, wrote: “Revolutionary’ Russell Brand leaves Buckingham Palace demonstrations early to hobnob with celebrities #hypocrite.”
Another added: “Russell Brand is the epitome of a champagne socialist’ And a self absorbed #B****d FACT!!”
Although he’s already spoken out about the disparity in wealth and lifestyle between him and the people he’s speaking for, it seems that people are still IRATE about it.
After being photographed taking part in the protest, Russell headed over to the West End for the press night of new play Made In Dagenham, joined by pals David Walliams and Jimmy Carr.
He even tweeted about it, adding in a little ‘Parklife’ joke for good measure, writing: “Enjoyed
@MadeinDagenham, women organising and confronting power. Top tunes by @DavidGArnold plus my Grandad worked at Fords. “Parklife”
In news that’s sure to cause more OUTRAGE among his critics, it seems that Russell’s new book ‘Revolution’ has raked in a staggering £230,000 in just 11 days.
Whatever he’s doing, it sure as heck is paying off!
