Russell Brand Wishes Ex-Wife Katy Perry ‘Good Luck’ For Her Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Russell Brand and Katy Perry‘s marriage may not have ended so well (text message, anyone?), but it seems the comedian let bygones be bygones as he tweeted a ‘good luck’ message to the singer before her Super Bowl performance.

Nice one, Russell.

And judging by her insanely good performance, his wishes of luck might just have paid off.

Russell, 39, sent a tweet before the big game saying that whilst the whole Super Bowl thing might be ‘baffling’ to us Brits (true, true), the half time show was sure to be ‘amazing’, and that he wishes KP good luck.

N’awww. That’s lovely, isn’t it?

It’s good to see the comedian showing support for his ex, despite whatever they went through.

Russell and Katy, 30, divorced after just one year of marriage in 2011, with Katy later revealing that her now ex-husband ended it all via text message.

Speaking about Russell to Vogue, the singer revealed: “He’s a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him.

“Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.”

Ouch.

Katy then went on to say that Russell may not have been the perfect husband he claimed to be, hinting that he cheated on her.

She continued: “I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day.

“I let go and I was like, ‘This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me.’ So I have moved on from that.”

Good to hear it.

And nothing was holding her back from her Super Bowl halftime show, where she welcomed legends Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott to the stage alongside actual dancing sharks.

Well, why not eh?

In just 12 minutes, KP rattled through the best of her back catalogue, including the hits ‘I Kissed A Girl’ and ‘Roar’, before ending her show with an emotional performance of ‘Firework’.

After having werked it with Missy, of course. We’re never getting over that.

Oh, and there wasn’t a wardrobe malfunction in sight either. HURRAH.

We wonder if Russell enjoyed the show as much as did…
