Former TOWIE star Sam Faiers always promised that she wouldn’t hold back when it came to revealing EVERYTHING about her relationship with Joey Essex in new autobiography ‘Secrets and Lies’, and it sounds like she’s a girl who keeps her promises.
In the new book, Sam has revealed exactly what happened during their Dubai trip of 2012, where she hit her then-boyfriend Joey before discussing the incident on the reality show in 2013.
The 24-year-old admits that the incident started when returned to the couple’s hotel room after partying in Dubai, where she took her clothes off and passed out in the bed.
She recalls that Joey later returned to the room with two men for a suite-based after party, before he tried to take her covers off, which would expose her naked body.
According to The Mirror, she explains: “Not content with making loads of noise in the main bit of the room, they came over to the bed where I was sleeping and started pulling at the duvet, sort of mucking around, but because everyone was so drunk the tugging was quite vigorous.
“As Joey was pulling at the bedclothes, I flung my hand over to the corner of the duvet in order to grab it and stop him showing two strange men everything that was under the covers. As I stretched my hand out and grabbed wildly at the air, my promise ring struck his face, completely by accident.”
She added: “Of course, any kind of violence is unforgiveable, whether it is dealt out by a man or woman…I would never have hurt Joey intentionally, ever, and I would never hit anyone.”
She also wrote that the incident “amost ended up ruining my reputaton and career,” after she spoke about it on The Only Way Is Essex during a discussion with her sister.
In the discussion, she said: “I can’t think of one thing that was really bad, apart from in Dubai we had a massive row and I pushed him and I slapped him around the face.
“It was only a slap. Everyone slaps their boyfriend once, when they deserve it.”
Sam has written openly about her relationship with Joey in her new book, which we’re sure he’ll really LOVE.
For example, she rants: “If delusion was an Olympic sport Joey would have a gold medal.
“He is like Peter Pan, frozen in time and unable to handle anything bad or real. He plays on the ‘Little Boy Lost’ act and has always had a real skill for twisting things round to suit him because he has never really been made to grow up and take responsibility for himself.
“That’s why we had to break up, for the sake of my sanity.
“I hoped it would end in marriage and children, but in the end I didn’t know who he was anymore.”
She continues on to claim that her ex-boyfriend was “obsessed” with her cheating on him, saying of their four-year on/off relationship: “He could never keep anything private – not only with TOWIE viewers but with his whole family.
“He played games and messed with my head. He was obsessed with the idea of me cheating even though I never gave him a single moment of worry.”
We can’t help but wonder what else Sam has revealed in the book…
