Let’s be honest, when we all found out that Simon Cowell was set to become a father for the first time, most of us couldn’t believe our ears.
But since the birth of his son, Eric, Si has proven himself to be pretty ruddy good at this ‘fatherhood’ malarkey, and enjoys it so much that he has now admitted that he’s tempted to adopt a few more kids.
The 55-year-old music mogul revealed: “Myself and Lauren want to have more children of our own but we could adopt as well.
“I wouldn’t rule out it happening, it’s a good idea. I’m beginning to warm to the idea of adopting.”
The TV judge credits his bezzie mate Sinitta for inspiring him to opt for adoption, thanks to his close relationship with her two adopted children Magdalena and Zac.
Simon explained: “They are just so cute. I like them. I’ve known them since they were really young and they are great kids.”
He also went on to discuss exactly what he’s like as a father, and although he may be known as Mr. Nasty on the telly, Simon’s much softer when it comes to telling off his one-year-old.
Simon dished: “I’m aware Eric could become a brat. I’m going to make sure we teach him manners and to not talk down to people.
“I’m terrible at discipline but that’s all basic stuff. And the first thing I said to Lauren is we’ll teach him to always be kind to animals.
“I’ll teach him the value of money. That’s what my mum and dad did with me. When they paid for holidays we had to earn our own spending money.
“When I was about eight I used to clean cars and mow lawns and I used to love it. I do think it is important that you earn your own money.
“I had that instilled in me and Eric will have the same.”
And you have to admit, that kind of work ethic hasn’t exactly done too badly for multi-squillionaire Simon, has it?
