She’s been away looking after daughter Matilda after a tragic Halloween accident.
But it’s being reported that Claudia Winkleman might be making her Strictly Come Dancing return this weekend, as the show travels up to the famous Blackpool Tower.
Welcome back, Clauds!
Claudia, 42, has taken a two-week break from the show after her daughter was badly burnt on Halloween when her costume caught fire.
She’s been keeping a vigil by the eight-year-old’s hospital bed whilst she recovers, but it’s rumoured that she could return to her Saturday night home this week.
We love Zoe Ball, but we haven’t half missed Claudia!
According the The Daily Express, BBC bosses are hopeful that Clauds will be back for this weekend’s Blackpool spectacular, despite original thoughts that she could be out for the whole series.
Good news indeed! We hope this means Matilda is making a wonderful recovery.
Tess Daly’s BFF was given indefinite time off to care for her daughter after the incident on Halloween, and despite one nasty troll, viewers of the show have been incredibly supportive.
A source from the BBC revealed: “She can have all the time she wants. All the time in the world. Everyone is thinking of her.”
Zoe Ball, who is the host of Strictly’s sister show, It Takes Two, has been stepping in to cover for Claudia during this difficult time.
Claudia and her husband Kris Thykier previously spoke out about the horrifying moment that Matilda’s Halloween costume became engulfed in flames in a statement.
The distraught couple said: “Our daughter was involved in an accident on Friday night while celebrating Halloween.
“She is having the best care possible and we are hopeful of a full recovery. We would like to thank everyone that has been so supportive and particularly the NHS doctors, nurses and staff who have been absolutely incredible.
“We would like to remind anyone taking part in fireworks parties or Guy Fawkes celebrations to be vigilant about the dangers of candles, open fires and fireworks and to be please have the appropriate safety measures in place and to hand.”
It has not been confirmed how the fire started, but it is widely believed that Matilda’s Halloween costume caught alight when it came into contact with a pumpkin candle.
Claudia, who is also mother to 11-year-old Jake and 3-year-old Arthur, was with her daughter when the incident happened near their West London home, and it has been revealed that Matilda was rushed to hospital in an ambulance as high priority.
We’re sending all our love and support to the couple, and hope that this latest update means Matilda’s recovery is going well.
