She’s been super busy touring with The Saturdays and being ridiculously flawless on Strictly Come Dancing, but Frankie Bridge has SOMEHOW found the time to talk all about her pregnancy experience.
Now a glowing mum to gorgeous little Parker, one, Frankie’s opened up about how she felt during the pregnancy, how ‘out of control’ she felt of her body and how she’s got her body back where she wants it.
Frankie Bridge: SUPER MUM.
Looking ruddy incredible on the cover of December’s edition, the 25-year-old has basically proven that she’s the busiest woman on the planet and to be honest, we don’t quite know how she does it.
In a completely frank interview, Frankie spoke about her body fears during her pregnancy, admitting it was the “first time” she “felt out of control” of her body, which sounds kinda terrifying to us!
She revealed: “I got water retention within the first three months – none of my shoes would fit. If Wayne squeezed my leg, he’d leave a handprint.”
So, how the ruddy HECK did Frankie get back into such incredible shape?! Pilates, apparently.
She revealed: “I did three sessions a week at the most. Then as time went on and I got fitter and healed, I did a couple of sessions of Pilates locally too, and Wayne would come with me!
“Footballers tend to be tight, so it helps. He’s competitive. I don’t think he realised how hard it is.”
Of course, it helps that she’s got a bit of eye-candy in the gym in the form of fit husband/stand-in personal trainer, even if he is “horrible” and “so disciplined.”
She revealed: “I did boxing with him a few times and he’d make me carry on for ages. “He’ll be on the bike for 40minutes, sweat dripping everywhere… whereas the minute I start sweating, I’m like ‘I can’t do this anymore,’ that’s why I need someone to push me.”
Frankie admits that she also used health and Fitness to help tackle depression: “Of course, at the time you go to the doctors and they all say, ‘Try exercise,’ and you think, ‘It’s impossible to even get off the sofa, let alone get myself into a gym.’ But it really does help.”
You’ve got more motivation than us!
She added: “It was one of my biggest fears because so many people do get postnatal depression.
She added: “I was convinced I was going to get it – but I didn’t and somehow that’s just made it all even more positive.”
If we could put some happy grinning emojis followed by the little thumbs up, we definitely would.
It certainly sounds like her, hubby Wayne and “main priority” Parker are doing wonderfully as a perfect little fam, and Frankie is keen to keep them at the top of her priorities list.
She said: “I worry about him [her son Parker] all the time. But I don’t really worry about anything else. I think it’s chilled me out a bit – it helps because he’s such a chilled baby.
“I hate it if I leave in the morning and Parker’s not up, and I get home and he’s already in bed. It doesn’t happen often, but if it does and he wakes in the middle of the night crying, I’m happy – we can cuddle for two minutes.”
AGH. SO DARN CUTE WE COULD CRY.
We’re super happy that Frankie’s super happy, and we’re actually really excited to see her family grow.
Could it be sooner than we thought? Possibly, according to Frankie: “I always thought I’d want to have babies close together and if Wayne had his way, that’s probably how it would be.
“But the thought of being pregnant again? Now I’ve just got my body back to feeling normal – I’m not ready to give that up yet.”
We can’t wait!
