Something tells us this year’s Strictly Come Dancing is going to be the most drama-filled of them all.
And before a satin-covered shoe has even been placed on the competitive dance floor, Gregg Wallace is already causing friction by slagging off his dance partner Aliona ahead of Saturday night’s show.
The Masterchef loud mouth and his other half (dancing-wise) didn’t appear to be too thrilled when they were paired with each other back in the launch show.
And now he’s made his feelings crystal clear on the matter – confessing he’d have much rather have had someone else to shimmy with instead.
Opening his gob to The Sun, the former grocer said: “I probably would have preferred Karen Hauer, the happy smiley Venezuelan”.
Well that’s a way to breed some great body language for Show 1 if we ever did hear one, Gregg.
THAT’S THE SPIRIT.
Gregg expanded on his feelings towards the previous winner in his Telegraph blog, saying: “She’s not one of the ‘happy cuddlies’, she’s one of the serious dancers. I don’t think I’m ever going to win Aliona’s affection, but I think I’ve won her respect.

“I won’t be hugely nervous for our first performance, because I’m so nervous of Aliona it couldn’t get any worse. She is tough tough tough.
“You go into rehearsals and there is no chit-chat, just three hours of hard work. She keeps a poker face, and if you get a ‘well done’ from Aliona it’s akin to having a star in your school book you can show your mum.”
JEEZ. WELL THE WHOLE THINGS SOUNDS LIKE A RIGHT BARREL OF LAUGHS.
We imagine that the feeling is probably pretty mutual, with Aliona looking less than impressed when her name was called.
And according to the Daily Star things are quite err meshing. A source said: “Last year she got golfer Tony Jacklin and was out first. She was hoping for Mark Wright or Thom Evans, not some disco dad.”
A quick scan of the professional dancer’s Twitter page reveals some less than enthusiastic tweets and even a throwback to her time on the show when she lifted the glitter ball with McFly’s Harry Judd.
This gem concerning Gregg and a pair of split pants really says it all. Disturbing being the operative word.
