Strictly 2014: Judy Murray Will Be Terrible Says Andy Murray, ‘Have You Tripped Yet?’

She’s spent years supporting him on the tennis circuit with that famous fist pump.

But Andy Murray is leaving his mum hanging when it comes to backing her for Strictly Come Dancing, telling her she will be “terrible”.

NICE ONE MUZZA.

Speaking to Yahoo Celebrity ahead of her appearance on the BBC dance show this Sunday, Judy Murray told us that whilst her other son, Jamie, has shown positivity towards her ballroom challenge, Andy has given her some harsh words.

She said: “When I talked about maybe doing it, I spoke to both of the boys and said Jamie said ‘oh mum you’ll love that – you love that show’ and Andy said ‘oh my god you’ll be absolutely terrible.’

“So, supportive to the end…No they were fine, they know that I love it and said if it makes me happy I should go for it.”

British tennis star and notorious grump Andy showed what little faith he has in his mum’s dancing skills through the message he sent her on the first day of training.

Judy told us: “Andy’s got a whole team of people around him for the US open so he doesn’t need me. But he sent me a text on the first day of training saying ‘have you tripped yet’.”

LOL.

But backing her or not, Judy is making sure that the Wimbledon champ will get a taste of things on the other side.

She said: “Andy will be coming down – I feel like its payback time. I can see him slowly slipping under the chair in front of him.”

Asked whether she has any natural flair or dance experience, she said: “I’ve never really done any dancing before, just school dances so I’m starting from a completely clean sheet.

“I’m a huge fan of the show, have been for five or six years but I never would have thought that I’d have the opportunity do something like this, learn to dance and be in a completely different world.

“My life has been saturated with tennis for so many years now that it’s a great opportunity to do something completely left field.”

And so far the biggest challenge hasn’t even been the dancing, but the footwear. She added: “The biggest thing for me, apart from getting the steps right is actually the heels. I usually a jeans, trainers, hoodie and ballet pumps type. For me, killer heels took on a whole new meaning for meaning for me.”
