She was forced to take time off from this year’s Strictly Come Dancing after her daughter Matilda suffered a horrifying accident, but it looks like Claudia Winkleman‘s little’un is on the road to recovery.
Opening up about her co-star and BFF’s eight-year-old, Tess Daly, 45, revealed that her daughters had recently been on a play-date with her.
She told The Mirror: “Matilda is improving now hugely.
“Our kids had a play day together last week and she is doing so well. They were running and playing hide and seek.”
Tess added: “It is every parent’s nightmare that your child is involved in an accident, but she is definitely on the road to recovery now and Claudia is feeling very happy and relieved.”
Thank goodness for that!
Claudia, 42, was forced to pull out of this year’s SCD after Mathilda was badly burned during a fireworks accident on Halloween.
But the much-loved presenter received a standing ovation when she made her big return at the end of November.
It all got VERY emotional.
Ahead of her return, she tweeted: “Hello Twitter. Firstly, a huge thank you to the incredible NHS doctors and nurses who are being extraordinary.
“We are bowled over by their kindness and brilliance. Matilda is doing well and although it will be a long road to recovery, she is getting.
“The best possible care. Thank you so much for your lovely messages – they meant everything.”
She added: “I’m coming back to Strictly this weekend but am out of practice so please bear with me.”
Claudia and Tess, who teamed up for the first time this year after Brucie’s exit, have been SO popular that they’ve been stopped in the street.
Tess said: “When I go out on the street and I meet people they tell me how much they enjoy the show and that ‘you and Claudia do a fantastic job together’.
“I get wonderful feedback face to face every day.”
She added: “I am a positive person so you tend to focus on the positives. You have to or else you would never get anything done.”
