It’s not the type of question you’d expect to hear before your morning cup of coffee.
(Skip to 1 minute and 42 seconds for the gloriously awkward moment)
So it’s no surprise that Dan Stevens was left a little shell-shocked after the wholesome Susannah Reid decided to ask a particularly awkwardly phrased question on Good Morning Britain.
The 43-year-old journalist was talking to the 31-year-old actor about landing the role in his latest action flick ‘The Guest’.
A simple enough question, you’d think.
Unfortunately, Susanna said this: “You must have had to beat off a lot of American men to get this part.”
Stevens then started trying to stifle a laugh, leaving a bemused Susanna confused as to why.
Adding fuel to the fire, Susanna followed the question with this: “Why does that make you giggle? Did you not have to beat them off?”
And with that, Dan – alongside Susanna’s co-host Ben Shephard – fell into fits of giggles.
But did Susanna really know what she was saying? This cheeky face would suggest she *might* have…
Still, if we’ve learned anything from the Great British Bake Off, it’s that innuendo and double entendre make for brilliant TV.
Well done, Susanna.
