Suzanne Shaw has revealed that she and her husband-to-be, Sam Greenfield, are expecting their first child together, and she definitely went all out with the announcement.
Rather than a simple tweet or a cutesy picture, the former Hear’Say singer confirmed her happy news with a cutesy video, which showed both Sam and her ten-year-old son Corey’s reaction to the news.
First up was Sam, who Suzanne made read out a fun poem that she had written before he discovered the positive pregnancy test in a gift box.
He read the poem aloud for the first time, growing more and more confused as he did so, sharing: “It’s nearly Valentine’s Day, it’s really quite silly, my feelings for you are switching around willy nilly.
“I’m so happy, so happy, then I feel sad. I’m gloomy, I’m joyful, oh crap this is bad.
“My body is clammy, then I’m in a deep sweat, sometimes I’m giddy, sometimes I fret.
“I’m looking for comfort deep in the fridge, recently I’ve wanted to jump off a bridge. What are the reasons for all of the above? Sam, I really do wish you the best of luck. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
The businessman then gets visibly choked up as he realises that he is going to be a dad, pulling his fiancee in for a mahoosive hug.
Next up, the duo had to break the news to Suzanne’s son, who opens a card with a similar poem in it that reveals that he is going to become a big brother… Unfortunately, he didn’t take the news so well and is next seen face down on the sofa, although he later explains that he was just shocked.
In her statement to the world, Suzanne shared the video alongside the note: “Sam and I are delighted to be expanding our family. I wanted to make the big reveal extra special for both Sam and Corey so I decided to video the occasion.
“We’re all over the moon and can’t wait to meet him or her when they arrive in October. It was definitely an extra special Valentine’s Day for us.”
Suzanne and Sam have been engaged since June last year, and plenty of the singer’s famous friends have since taken to Twitter to pass on their congratulations – including Myleene Klass and Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon.
massive congratulations to Suzanne and Sam – we already can’t wait to see your bundle of joy!
