Tallulah Willis has revealed a surprising style icon in the form of Christina Aguilera circa 2002, when she turned up to the MTV Video Music Awards in, well, not a lot.
Yep, Demi Moore’s beaut daughter has dug out everything from the denim mini skirt to the bizarre halterneck top that looks a bit like she’s just wrapped a scarf around her boobs and neck to create this Xtina homage.
Here’s the two looks side by side:
The 21-year-old snubbed Xtina’s latest gorgeous gowns in favour of this, erm, interesting look that we’re 99.99999% sure made 2002′s worst dressed list, sharing a photo of her effort on MazSight.
And you know what? As ruddy awful as Christina’s original look was, Tallulah has totally nailed it.
10/10 for effort.
Despite getting everything from the top to the sideways white flat cap thing on point, Tallulah was missing two things: the sort-of dreadlocks and the belt.
She actually noted the fact that the belt wasn’t included in the caption, where she wrote: “missing: rosary/chain-belt hybrid.”
Crazy red eyeshadow explosion, black buckle-laden boots and partially braided hair that made Xtina look like she’d been in a fight with a bird also not included.
Although considering Tallulah shaved her head back in November, that might have been tricky.
Lack of braided hair and belts aside, we’re definitely giving Tallulah top marks for getting the nostalgic look spot on, as much as we’re wishing that the ensemble had been burnt or something after it’s first outing.
We’re just thanking our lucky stars that those weird scarf halterneck tops haven’t become an actual thing, because we’re not entirely sure we can cope with that. THANK YOU, EVERYONE.
Next stop, those actual leather chaps from the ‘Dirrty’ video?
