Not only is today great because it’s FRIDAY (congrats on making it, everyone), BUT, more importantly, today is the day that Taylor Swift was announced as the first performer for Radio 1′s Big Weekend in Norwich.
TGIF. Bring out the confetti because we feel like all our birthdays, Christmasses and Easters have come at once! Even if we don’t actually live anywhere near Norwich. Details, details.
SWIFTY. IN NORWICH. IN MAY. HOLLER.
Announcing the tres fantastico news on his breakfast show this morning, Nick Grimshaw that the UK’s biggest free ticketed festival would be travelling to Earlham Park in the city of Norwich for this year’s bonanza, set to take place on May 23 and 24.
Cancel EVERYTHING on those dates. You won’t want to miss this, wherever you are.
As usual, the event will be hosted by Radio 1 DJs and will give lucky ticket winners the chance to see some of the best artists in the entire world.
With Taylor already announced as a top performer, we’ve got no doubt that this year will be bigger and better than EVER.
Brb. We’re off to listen to Taylor’s entire back catalogue from now until the actual event. Sorry not sorry, everyone.
Explaining her love for the UK Crowd, Tay herself said: “They are rowdy, insane, in the best way – there seems to be a lot of jumping, which I love.
“When I think of a UK crowd I think of a sea of people that is moving like an ocean – it’s the most beautiful site you could possibly witness and I can’t wait to come back.
“Everyone talks about the festivals in England being the best ones you can go to. I feel like I’ve been missing out – I’m really excited.”
We are pretty darn awesome tbh.
