Everyone knows that a quick listen to Taylor Swift‘s ‘Shake It Off’ is basically the one and only way to start a day, even if you’re a policeman heading out on duty.
Confused? Let’s explain.
A video of a police officer from Delaware out-sassing the entire world (even Louis Tomlinson. Well, almost) as he shakes, shimmys and mimes along to Tay’s uplifting classic has gone viral because a) he KILLS it, b) it’s AMAZING and c) it’s the perfect way to brighten up the dullest of days.
Seriously, this is literally the ONLY thing you need to feast your eyes on today, especially if things are a bit rough. It IS Monday after all.
Master Cpl. Jeff Davis was caught getting his boogie on by Dover Police, Delaware, who uploaded the video as part of their ‘Dash Cam Confessionals’ series.
Uploading the footage, they wrote: “While reviewing dashcam footage, we come across some interesting sights to say the least. We decided we would share some with you in a new web series called Dash Cam Confessionals.”
And we’re SO glad you did, guys!
Jeff literally has ALL the moves, from mastering the ultimate shimmy, perfecting the best sassy head flicks and rolls and pointing at the haterz, to lip-syncing each and every word, including the rapping.
He even remains professional at all times, pausing his choreography to nod and wave at the general public to assure them he’s doing his job before launching straight back into the dance zone.
Dover Police also shared the video on Facebook, writing: “Taylor Swift, if you’re watching… we’re sorry.”
NEVER APOLOGISE FOR THOSE KILLER MOVES.
Besides, Tay has actually responded to the video herself on Twitter, writing just: “LOLOLOLOL THE SASS.”
Never were truer words spoken.
Cpt. Mark Hoffman, department spokesman, spoke of the incredible reaction to the video, explaining that he’s had calls from media in Australia, Germany, England and the US, which is just crazy when you think about it.
The video itself currently has over 13 MILLION views, too, and that figure just keeps on rising.
The sassiest policeman ever is apparently the “class clown” of the department, and only knows the song so well because of his 10-year-old daughter.
Bet he loves it too, though.
The moral of the story is that we need to get this guy a medal.
Whether this video was set up or not, we don’t really care because it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate but don’t ever stop shake, shake, shake, shake, shakin’ it off, Jeff. Please.
