It’s what we’ve all been waiting for!
Taylor Swift has finally revealed that her fifth studio will be called ’1989′ in an exclusive Q&A with Yahoo on Monday, during which she announced three MAJOR pieces of news.
During the ground-breaking live stream, hosted by the pop star in front of a roomful of ‘devoted and hand-picked’ fans, she also dropped the bombshell that her new album artwork will be made up entirely of Polaroids.
Taylor started off the exclusive live stream with the first of her big three surprises… the first ever rendition of brand new song ‘Shake It Off’.
She said: “I have three big surprises for you. I really, really, really like the one at the end, so stick with me.
“I have a new song that I’m going to play you in like 30 seconds. Would you like to know what its about?”
Before jumping up to perform, TayTay gave us a *little* insight into her inspiration about the new song.
She said: “The thing is, people can say whatever they want about us at any time – false rumours yes! And we cannot control that, the only thing we can control is our reaction to that.
“You have two options. You can let it get to you and let yourself descend into insanity. Or option two – you can just shake it off. “
After a live performance, Taylor then dropped bombshell number two – that her album is named after the year of her birth… for a very special reason.
She said: “I think I should tell you that this has to lead to the confession that I’ve been working on a new album for two years.
“This new album is a rebirth for me. It’s so new, I’ve never really made these kind of changes before. So taking all that into consideration – this new album is called ’1989′.”
Taylor went on to admit that she had well and truly moved away from her country roots as this was her FIRST official pop album.
Showing a snap of the album cover, she said: “This photo is actually a Polaroid. All the album artwork is on Polaroids.
After an audience Q&A, Taylor delivered the third (and most exciting) news… in the form of her brand new video.
WE CAN’T TAKE ALL THIS EXCITEMENT.
The hilarious vid sees Swifty embracing her love of dancing by surrounding herself with professional dancers from different genres - doing her own (very cool) version.
Talking about the vid, she said: “So the idea was to get a group of incredible professional dancers and throw me into the middle of them and see what happens.
“You’ll see a group of 100 fans at the end – they have kept the secret that they were in this music video for two months so well done.”
So much to take in! We need a lie down!
