Taylor Swift Stopped Dating Because She ‘Doesn’t Need A Man For Inspiration’

She might be referred to as a ‘serial dater,’ but Taylor Swift is putting a stop to all that by officially STOPPING DATING.

Bad luck, boys.

Despite the majority of her songs being inspired by the ups-and-downs of her many, many relationships, TayTay is setting out the prove that she can make damn good songs without the help of any Harry Styles or John Mayer types.

Talking to Esquire, the 24-year-old said: “I really didn’t like the whole serial-dater thing. I thought it was a really sexist angle on my life.

“I just stopped dating people, because it meant a lot to me to set the record straight – that I do not need some guy around in order to get inspiration, in order to make a great record, in order to live my life, in order to feel okay about myself. I wanted to show my fans the same thing.

“I’ve done more thinking and examining and figuring out how to cope with things on my own than I would have if I had been focusing on someone else’s emotions and someone else’s schedule. It’s been really good.”

Tay’s love life has often been the topic of harsh jokes, but the poor girl still can’t understand why we all cared so much.

We can’t help you there, love.

She added: “I would date someone, figure out we weren’t compatible or figure out we didn’t work out, and then we’d break up. That seems like a very normal thing for a young 20-something to do.

“I think it’s Healthy for everyone to go a few years without dating, just because you need to get to know who you are.”

Taylor recently hit out at critics of her songwriting inspo, appearing on Australia’s radio station 2DAYFM to defend her honest material.
Speaking to presenters, Tay said: You’re gonna have people who are going to see the depth from which you approached a song. The fact that you put your real emotions into it and that that’s valuable and that’s good and that’s real.

“And then you’re going to have people who say ‘oh you know, she just writes songs about her ex boyfriends’.”

“I think frankly that’s a very sexist angle to take. No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says it about Bruno Mars.

“They’re all writing songs about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love-life, and no one raises a red flag there.”
She added: “My first album came out when I was sixteen, I would write about my life as I saw it, as I felt it and then what happens is that as you get more successful, you have more and more people paying attention to what you’re doing.”

We’re always gonna be interested, soz Tay.

This all came after Olly Murs told Tay to just move on and get over it when he found out Tay’s track ‘Out Of The Woods’ was written about her relationship with Olly’s BFF Harry Styles.

Still, if Taylor’s stopped dating, what will her songs be about instead?

Our bet’s on cats.
