Wait… so she just beat HERSELF to number 1? Are there even any other popstars out there at the moment?!

As well becoming the fastest selling album for the LAST 12 YEARS, it seems that T-Swizzle is now also the first woman to ever succeed herself at the top of the singles chart.

Seriously though, is there anything she can’t do?!

Taylor’s fifth studio album sold a mahoosive 1.287 million copies in its debut week, proving that her controversial removal of all her songs from Spotify was a worthwhile move.

The streaming service reached out to the singer after her label Big Machine Records pulled the plug not only on ’1989′ but her back catalogue too.

They wrote: “We hope she’ll change her mind and join us in building a new music economy that works for everyone.

“We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy. That’s why we pay nearly 70 percent of our revenue back to the music community.”

Taylor previously spoke out about the future decline of music sales, stating that she does not believe this to be an issue.

She wrote: “There are many (many) people who predict the downfall of music sales and the irrelevancy of the album as an economic entity. I am not one of them.”

Yeah, sounds like it’s paid off in a MAJOR way. Taylor 1 – 0 Spotify.
