The Saturdays have been bringing a Healthy dose of girl power into our lives for eight years, but now, three members of one of our favourite girlbands EVER are set to launch solo careers.
BUT, never fear, ladies and gents, because this does NOT spell the end of the band altogether. Let’s all take a sec to breathe a sigh of relief.
According to The Mirror, Una Foden, Vanessa White, and Mollie King have each been working on their own music in the studio, with the hope of releasing their solo material by the end of 2015.
Una, 33, is reportedly going for an acoustic, country sound, giving her a chance to show off her guitar and songwriting skills. She is apparently the closest to signing an actual record deal.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Mollie is opting for a disco, 80s vibe, with a touch of inspiration from Kylie Minogue. She’s so fanc-eh.
Vanessa, 25, is getting influence from Rihanna for her R&B material, and is apparently trying to find ‘edgy tracks’ so that she can truly showcase her vocal range.
Oooo, this all sounds rather bloomin’ fantastic, doesn’t it? We want to hear it now, please.
While these three reportedly work on riding s-o-l-o, Rochelle Humes, 26, will focus on her TV and presenting work, with Frankie Bridge, 26, getting ready to give birth to her second child.
Busy bees indeed.
An insider told The Mirror: “Una, Mollie and Vanessa are all really excited and a bit nervous about releasing their solo material, but it’s been a long time in the pipeline.
“The girls are still a band, but they’re all happy to work on their own solo projects. It means there’s no animosity or frustration between them – it’s a set-up which works really well.”
