The 2015 series of The Voice UK kicked off with a bang last night, and Rita Ora wasn’t the only new but familiar face on the show….
Alongside an audition from Mr. Bungle himself, the BBC One talent show saw Coronation Street star, Kym Marsh, support her sixteen-year-old daughter, Emily as she sang for the four judges.
Sadly, none of them pressed their buzzer, leaving Emily totally devvo’d, and Kym picking up the pieces.
And now, feisty Kym has taken to Twitter to slam cruel trolls who have been making mean remarks about Emily all over social media, with the 38-year-old dubbing them as ‘bullies’ and blasted them for laying into a teenager.
Which is totally fair enough.
She wrote to her followers: “Got to say the bullies on here make me sick!! Say what you like about me I really do not care but a 16yr old??? Really?? Sick!!! [sic]“

You tell ‘em, Kym.
Her Corrie co-star, Catherine Tyldesley also jumped in to defend the hopeful, replying to Kym: “pure jealous. Pity them- for they live in world of deep will never forfil their dreams. #karmawillprevail x [sic].”

See? It’s jealousy, pure and simple.
Sorry, we couldn’t resist.
This isn’t the first time that Kym’s family have been targeted by Twitter trolls, with it being reported just two weeks ago that the star was considering quitting the site after receiving hate online when it emerged that the actress was renting out her second home to her parents.
In fact, things got so bad and vile on the site, that one user told the mum of four that he hopes her children get meningitis.
Like, seriously? What is that about?!
A friend told The Sun that the meningitis message pushed the actress over the edge, explaining: “Kym has taken stick over the years on Twitter and given it back but sometimes it goes too far.”
And let’s be honest – even saying that it’s simply ‘gone too far’ seems like a massive understatement with the awful comments Kym was getting.
Still, the mum-of-four soon bounced back and was tweeting her praise for Emily earlier in the evening, when her blind audition first aired.
The excited ma gushed: “I am solo proud of my daughter at 16 she is just a baby and she was so nervous but this is not the end for her this is just the beginning [sic].”
And if anybody would know about the highs and lows of breaking the music industry, it’s Ms. Marsh, who first found fame all the way back in 2000 (gosh, we feel old) on Popstars: The Rivals, when she was selected to be in winning group, Hear’Say.
Kym ditched singing in 2002 before making a real name for herself on the famous cobbles of Weatherfield, and now fierce mama bear of The Voice UK.
In fact, the judges better hope that they don’t bump into the star at the national Television Awards later this month, because something tells us that Kym might just have a few choice words for them…
