V Festival is Virgin Media’s pop’n’rock festival that has been taking place every year in two sites since 1996. It’s known as one of the ‘friendlier’ festivals around, with a large attendance of younger fest goers and families.

Who’s Playing?

We almost feel like we could just say Justin Timberlake and leave it there. That’s right, JT is headlining Saturday in Chelmsford and Sunday in Staffordshire making his only major UK festival appearance this year. He’s co headlining with synth rockers The Killers, who will bring some Las Vegas glam to the proceedings and will assuredly have some of the best sing alongs of the weekend when several thousand drunk punters bellowing “I’M MISTER BRIGHTSIDE.”

Alongside these two gargantuan names we have a cavalcade of pop’s finest: Ed Sheeran, Lily Allen, Paolo Nutini, Elbow, Tinie Tempah, Katy B, Chase & Status, Alesso and SO. MUCH. MORE. It’s a bit like the V Fest organisers took a look at the Top 40 charts from this year and said, “We’ll take all of them, thank you.” Check out the full line-up right here.

If you missed their reuinion show at G-A-Y or their brief support stint for the Backstreet Boys at the O2 earlier this year you should try to catch the reformed All Saints for the nostalgia factor if nothing else. Ceelo Green, the vocal half of Gnarls Barkley, will be at the festival booming out his soulful electro R&B and is not to be missed.

Finally for having a laugh while you’re at V we recommend either checking out Alan Carr’s headline set at the Glee Comedy Stage or taking in rap troupe Goldie Lookin’ Chain while loudly wondering how they’re still together as a group fourteen years down the line.
