We wouldn’t say no to living next door to David and Victoria Beckham; you can swoon over a topless Dave, coo over adorable Harper, and seek fashion advice from actual Posh Spice – what is there not to love?
Well, the famous couple’s new London neighbour has found something to kick up a storm about, with it being reported that the mystery local resident has already written the Beckhams a strongly worded letter – despite the fact that they haven’t even moved in.
Basically, it’s one big barney about bloomin’ air conditioning, with Posh and Becks spending an entire eighteen months preparing the plans to transform their £3.15million Victorian mansion in Holland Park into a luxury family home.
Which includes air-con, a gym, and a wine cellar if you’re wondering.
Now The Mirror has reported that one of their peeved neighbours “totally disagrees” with the plans, which will apparently “affect the historic character of the Victorian house of the streets, my house included.”
Hmm, we’re not sure how Dave and Vicks having air con will affect their house, but let’s hear them out, yeah?
The Mirror cites the neighbour as writing: “The council must identify our deep concerns about all adverse impacts on living conditions from noise, vibration, dirt, pollution and dust from construction and from associated traffic, in addition to concerns about impacts on drainage, on appearance and landscape, on structural stability, and on historic buildings. [sic]“
We’re sorry, pal, but people renovating their houses is something that’s gonna happen – drilling and banging is annoying but even the rich residents of Holland Park will have to deal with it at some stage.
The Beckham family, which includes sixteen-year-old Brooklyn, twelve-year-old Romeo, ten-year-old Cruz, and three-year-old Harper, had their plans for “internal alterations at all levels” approved earlier this year and they are reportedly intending to totally reboot the house so that the finished project boasts six bedrooms, a playroom, and a cinema to name a few.
Despite approving all of that upheaval, word on the street is that Kensington and Chelsea Council are still set to decide on whether or not they are allowed to install air conditioning, with the couple submitting a fresh application for it in February.
Will the moany neighbour or air-con-loving Beckhams win the war? Only time will tell…
