Earlier this year, the Spice Girls embarked on a U.K. tour. The outing marked the first time that the “Wannabe” singers had ventured out on the road together since 2008. During those stops, they were not joined by Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice. Now, group member Emma Bunton, who goes by Baby Spice, has shared what the future holds for the five original members if the girl group decides to continue touring.
In an interview with The Sun, Bunton shared that the remaining four members aren’t so sure that they would allow Beckham to rejoin the group for any future dates.
“Having done the stadium tour we felt really strong as a four-piece. That is probably what we will stick to now. If she’d like to join us for a show, that would be amazing. But I’m not sure it’s what she has in mind,” Bunton told the publication.

For her part, Beckham has spoken about the decision she made early on not to join the pop group for their summer concerts. “It took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says, ‘You know, I’m not doing it because things feel different now than they used to,” she revealed to Vogue Germany (as translated by Billboard) earlier this summer.
As for what the future holds for the group, Bunton also told the outlet that she would love to “get a move on” and explore further projects with the current members. “I just think our show is ready so I want to give them a kick up the bum and say, ‘Come on, let’s do this.’ But we’ve got kids at school and we’d love them to come, so we just have to make sure it’s right for everyone,” she said.
It has also been reported that the Spice Girls have an animated movie in the works that would include all five members and new music. When it was first announced in June, it was slated for a 2020 release.
