The 49-year-old presenter was filming ‘The Kyle Files’ in Magaluf at the time of the attack, a documentary looking at what impact heavy drinking was having on young people’s lives.

However, instead of talk focusing on what Jeremy was finding, attention was drawn to the host himself after a bouncer used pepper spray on him.

In the scary clip from the ‘Young Drinkers’ episode, Jeremy is seen being bundled into a car by his security team after the attack.

He says:  “Nothing could prepare me for what happened next,” he recalls. “Suddenly my eyes were stinging, I can’t see properly, my throat is burning and I feel disorientated and scared.”

“Walking down the street I think somebody sprayed pepper spray – it’s serious. Throat, eyes, coughing.

“We came here to talk about a drinking culture – lots of kids seemingly having fun. You get pepper spray sprayed in your face, just walking down the street. Okay, is that the camera? Is that because we’re trying to find out what its really like or does that happen every night If you get into an argument?”

Luckily, Jeremy suffered no injuries as a result of the attack. The bouncer responsible for the spraying, which happened as the presenter was experiencing a Friday night on the Magaluf strip, has defended his actions, suggesting that it’s Jeremy’s fault for making the strip look “s**t.”

Leon, 40, told The Tab last year: “He was walking down the strip with camera making it look s**t. He wasn’t showing the good side of Magaluf.

“I don’t like that sort of publicity – it’s not good. It’s been happening for a while now and it’s definitely not the way to promote a place.

“I don’t like the way he portrays the place. We’re like family here – we clean everything and keep it that way. It’s actually a nice place to live which is why you find lots of families here with their kids being raised here.”

They do say actions speak louder than words.

As well as looking at the effects of drinking, Jeremy will also investigate legal highs, knife crime, fake and dangerous goods and the cosmetic surgery industry in his new documentary series.

At least Leon can be safe in the knowledge that Jeremy will most definitely NEVER grace the resort with his presence again after the attack.
