Just when we thought that we couldn’t be more excited about EastEnders 30th Anniversary ‘Live Week’, BBC bosses have pulled out the big guns.
As well as FINALLY discovering who bumped off Lucy Beale, the return of fave characters such as Christian and Tanya, and the excitement of a full live episode on Friday, it has been revealed that Tamwar Masood – actual Tambo – will be live-tweeting throughout the week’s episodes.
We know, we know, try and contain yourselves.
Actor, Himesh Patel, will be tweeting in character via the official BBC EastEnders account whilst the show is underway each night, and although we have a feeling that we’ll be a little bit too engrossed in the revelations to be watching our Twitter stream, it is definitely a soap first.
24-year-old Himesh said of his task: “Tweeting in character is a first for me – but I think I know Tamwar well enough and I’m looking forward to giving the world his unique perspective on things as they unfold.”
We’re certainly looking forward to see what he makes of it all…
This isn’t the first interactive element to EastEnders’ live week, with it previously being revealed that fans of the show could vote online to decide which song should be Jane and Ian Beale’s official Wedding song, n’aww.
Although, unfortunately, Anita Dobson’s ‘Anyone Can Fall In Love’ wasn’t one of the options.
EastEnders 30th Anniversary special kicks off tonight, with all episodes featuring live segments until Friday’s hour-long, fully-live special, and with no Jack Branning there to fluff his lines, fingers crossed this one will be a lot smoother than the show’s last attempt.
Viewers will finally find out who killed Lucy Beale on Thursday night’s episode, with a special flashback ep airing at 9.30pm to see Hetti Bywater reprise her role as the troubled blonde, allowing the audience to track her final moments.
Needless to say, we can’t ruddy wait.
