Adam Levine is leaving “The Voice” after 16 seasons. The shocking news was announced by host Carson Daly on NBC’s “Today” show Friday morning.
Fellow “The Voice” coaches have spoken out on social media to wish the Maroon 5 singer well. Including Kelly Clarkson, who has been with the series and the “Payphone” singer’s competition since joining the crew in Season 14. The mother of two, took to Twitter, stating, “…it will be weird showing up 4 work & he’s not there…”.
Found out last night about @adamlevine leaving The Voice & while I get that he’s been doing the show 4 a while & wants to step away, it will be weird showing up 4 work & he’s not there _ To start an amazing show from the ground up is a big deal!

The person that will probably miss Levine the most, though, is Blake Shelton. He and Levine were both in the original cast of coaches who helped launched the show in 2011 and they’ve built quite the frenemy bromance over the years.
Having a hard time wrapping my head around @adamlevine not being at @NBCTheVoice anymore. After 16 seasons that changed both of ours lives. I only found out about this yesterday and it hasn’t set in on me yet. Gonna miss working with that idiot.

While Shelton is undoubtedly down about his co-star leaving, surely Levine’s replacement will be able to turn that frown upside down. That’s because the Maroon 5 singer’s replacement is none other than Gwen Stefani, who Shelton has been dating since 2015.
With the question of who will replace the singer-songwriter out of the way, only one question remains. Why did he leave?
A source told US weekly that there are multiple reasons why Levine left the show, one being that “the singer had disliked the show” for some time and “didn’t like the format or the fact that America favors country music”.
Despite leaving the show being a difficult decision for him he took some time to show his appreciation and thankfulness for the opportunity on MazSight. You can read his full post here.
John Legend and Kelly Clarkson will remain judges for the upcoming season.
Season 17 of “The Voice” will air on NBC this fall.
