Picture the scene – you’re a trendy young London hipster, hob-nobbing with the edgiest of them in an East London bar. Suddenly you think, ‘You know what, I could really do with a crêpe’.
Well, if you happen to mosey on up the road towards exotic Old Street, and come across an exquisitely designed van, then you’ll bump into none-other than Mark Feehily – AKA Mark from Westlife – who’ll be on hand to offer you a crêpe with the topping of your choice.
Yes, we’re a bit surprised by all of this too, if we’re honest.
Eagled-eyed late Nineties and early Noughties enthusiasts spotted the singer, as he was helping out on the van he now owns, serving delectable treats to young and trendy folk in the capital the other day.
Lorraine Pascal, eat your heart out.
The one-time Mariah Carey co-collaborator revealed all to Today FM’s Eoghan McDermott: “It’s going really well, we’ve got loads of interest and we’ve booked it in with a lot of the music festivals”.
“People were flabbergasted at the fact that I was in the van making crepes. People kind of have this thing ‘Oh, he was in Westlife a few years ago and now he’s making tea’.”
Well it’s certainly a turn-up for the books, put it that way Mark.
Despite reservations from some fans, Mark apparently loves his van and is keen to break into the world of tapas in the near future.
He added: “It’s my business and I love it, anything I get involved in I get involved 110%.”
“A couple of Irish people came up and were like ‘Wait a minute, what are you doing in a van?’ I love festivals, so why not?”
To be fair, the cost of a ticket to a festival has SKYROCKETED in recent years, so we see his point.
However, in spite of the success of his new catering venture, Westlife fans can stop having apoplexy - as Mark has also said he WILL be making more music soon.
Well thank the lord for that, eh?
Save us a pancake Feehily – ours is a Nutella one, thanks.
