Andrea Faustini has set the record straight about his supposed diva tantrum last weekend.
Despite being favourite to win, the 20-year-old X Factor hopeful found himself in the bottom two last weekend, with The Sun reporting that he locked himself in his room for 12 hours with his sister after the show wrapped.
Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Celebrity, the Italian Pug lover hit back at the claims, branding them false.
He told us: “I read something about me being depressed. It’s not true! Obviously it was very hard [being in the bottom two]. But it’s not true that I spent all the night just with my sister closed in a room!
“Obviously it was hard because it meant so much to me. For the first time ever on Sunday I realised that everything could end very quickly so it was hard.
“But at the same time it made me stronger and I realised that I have to work harder because I want to stay here.”
As for whether he still thinks he can win the show, Andrea admits that he still thinks there is a chance.
“We are at a stage of the competition where everyone could win,” he explained.
“Why not? Why shouldn’t I win? I’m working hard and I think I deserve it. But everyone deserves it so it’s hard!
“My biggest lesson I learned is to don’t overthink things and just go for it because if you start thinking and get nervous, that’s when you don’t give you 100%. It’s hard. That’s what Mel says to me every time”
The X Factor continues this Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.
