X Factor 2014: Ben Haenow Is Crowned WINNER Whilst Fleur East Comes In Second

It’s been a long and exhausting journey, but last night saw this year’s X Factor FINALLY draw to a close as we crowned BEN HAENOW (HAENOW) as 2014′s WINNER!

CONGRATS BEN! <3

After Andrea Faustini’s exit on night one of the Wembley live shows, it was down to Fleur East and Ben to battle it out for the viewers’ votes – after we watched Olly Murs, Demi Lovato, Sam Smith and ONE DIRECTION show the two finalists how it’s done, obvs.

Mel B was also BACK fighting semi-fit after her reported hospital stay (and super quick-thinking chaffeur), and despite not feeling 100%, still managed to release her sassy self all over the last show of the series. WOOP!

After Stevi Ritchie and Chloe-Jasmine had already shared one major awks reunion on Saturday night’s show, they were forced to join forces again for the last totally cringey but weirdly enjoyable group performance of 2014, which saw the return of all 16 live show finalists of the series.

Oh, and Blonde Electra, the two SISTERS that were eliminated in show one, shared an ACTUAL KISS (a la TATU) that made us spit out our popcorn at the TV. Erm, WTAF?!

After we recovered from all that, we were treated to an exclusive performance of Olly Murs and Demi Lovato‘s duet Up, which was better than any mince pie and mulled wine combo we’d tried during the course of the show, as well as a totes emosh Stay With Me rendition from Sam Smith himself, which we may or may not have shed a tear during.

YES ALRIGHT WE DID. We were properly tense at this point alright?!

Of course, the main/best/biggest/all-round-most-amazing guest performance award went to One Direction, who performed Where Do Broken Hearts Go? with Ronnie Wood from The Rolling Stones, and just completely won at life really.

Mainly because of THAT pink flamingo shirt. You know the one we’re talking about. It was really good, we screamed a lot, we clapped a lot and er, yeah. The end.

But obvs, the main event was finding out whether it would be Ben or Fleur lifting that X Factor trophy, which was shaped strangely like their winner’s single, at the end of the night.

Not that Simon Cowell felt AT ALL smug about two of his acts being the two final finalists. Nope. Not at all.

Both contestants got the chance to pick their fave song of the series to perform one last time, with Ben choosing Man in the Mirror for its acapella awesome-ness and Fleur opting to get her Uptown Funk on one last time.

Not sure how they both managed to make their performances even better than their original but they did. And we LOVED it.

Then they mustered up everything they had left in their vocal chords for one FINAL performance, as they both took on One Republic’s Something I Need for their winner’s single.

Something we needed at this point was just to find out who had ruddy well won, and thankfully, after quick ad break #587 and a guest performance, it was announced that BEN had only gone and stolen the trophy from Fleur and won the WHOLE DAMN THING!

HAENOW HAENOW WELL BLOODY DONE.

Sadly, Harry Styles didn’t run on and say something about lots of pussy, but he was probably caught up telling everyone where he got his jazzy shirt from. Figures.

Anyway, we’re exhausted after all that and we feel like we probably need a whole YEAR to recover from all the stress.

The big question is: who will fill the judges’ seats next year? DUN DUN DUNNNNN.
