He’s the hottie with a sob story, but what else is there to Jake?
Name: Jake Quickenden
Category-Mentor: Boys-Mel B
Fast Fact: Got as far as Judges Houses back in 2012 but Nicole Scherzinger sent him home in favour of Rylan Clark.
What He Said: ““I want to do a bit of everything and show my versatility. I want to dance and move around, and sing ballads.”
Most Likely To: Look pretty.
Yes, Jake is technically an over but he auditioned when he was 25 and that is why he is in the Boys category – Can we all move on with our lives now?
Jake made everybody sob during his Room Audition.
His original performance was stopped by the powerful hand of Mel B, who told him that he needed more emotion.
Jake then recounted the tragic death of his younger brother, before giving a VERY emotional performance of ‘Say Something’, much to the judge’s delight.
At the arena, the singer sang Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ and then nabbed the first of Mel’s hard-to-get seats during the six seat challenge following his performance of ‘A Thousand Years’.
At Judges Houses Jake impressed Scary and Baby Spice with his rendition of ‘Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic’, and we’re pretty sure it wasn’t just his voice that the girls enjoyed in that performance.
In the first live show, Brian Friedman gave some bizarre choreography and had Jake laying down at the start of his song, which was Robbie Willliams’ ‘She’s The One’ by the way, all of the judges agreed that the ladies will love him but Simon reckons Jake needs “More grit” in his voice.
So Jake said he will eat some sand.
Verdict: He will go quite far because he has a pretty face AND a sob story to boot – that’s like X Factor gold in this day and age.
