Let’s be honest, we’re all SUPER excited about the return of a certain judge!

And apparently it’s not just us freaking out about seeing Cheryl FV back on our TVs, as the singer gets a VERY warm welcome during the first episode of The X Factor.

But while Saturday’s show sees Chezza inundated with love from pretty much every contestant she meets… poor old Mel B is left out in the cold!

*Sob*.

While we obviously love Mrs Fernandez-Versini, like, a lot, we can’t help but feel sorry for Mel who didn’t get *quite* so much of the attention.

The former Spice Girl, 39, admits that she feels like ‘chopped liver’ during the first episode, after ANOTHER contestant showers Chez with affection.

All a bit awks.

After one guy tells Cheryl, 31, how much he loves her, Mel responds: “What am I, f****** chopped liver? I hate sitting next to this one.”

Could this be a sign of things to come?!

A wannabe star brings in a rose for Cheryl during his audition, promoting Mel to shout: “Where’s mine?”

SO… AWKWARD.

But despite the fact that Cheryl clearly gets the vast majority of screen time (soz, Mel), it seems that the pair are actually really good friends and there isn’t’ any animosity between them OKAY?

Phew!

Speaking at The X Factor launch, Chez even went so far as to say that Mel is the best female judge that she’s ever worked with.

She said: “Mel is great, we bonded instantly. She cracks me up laughing. We really get along well. We’ve never had two girls get on so well to be honest.”

Simon Cowell also told us that he was very impressed with Mel, after being initially hesitant about signing her up.

He said: “I did have that worry with Mel beforehand that she was doing America’s Got Talent for us and she does another show in Australia – there’s always that worry that ‘is somebody just a judge for hire’, are they going to focus on the contestant?

“But from the moment she sat in that chair she was totally focused and interested in finding a star and that’s all you can ask for.

“She’s taking it seriously and she’s a really good judge of talent. I’d hire her again for next year.”

You might want to give her a bit more screen time if you want that to happen, Si!
