She caused quite the stir on Friday night.
And now X Factor’s Chloe Jasmine has spoken out about her singing ability following Cheryl Fernandez-Versini‘s decision to controversially swap her back into the competition during Friday night’s Bootcamp.
The 24-year-old was initially given a seat during the brutal six-chair challenge before being swapped out for fellow name sharer Chloe O’Gorman.
However, once Cheryl has decided on her final six, she had a change of heart, bringing Chloe back and giving 20-year-old Orla Keogh the boot despite the Irish beauty receiving high praise from the judges.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Chloe has now admitted that she isn’t the strongest signer, branding her performances ‘hit and miss’.
She told the paper: “I am not particularly confident with my ability at singing. With modelling it is great, you can do several takes and they can photoshop it and put make up on you.
“With singing it is different, it is really hit and miss.”
That’s right, people, you can’t Photoshop a performance. Glad we cleared that one up.
Chloe’s admission comes after it was reported that Cheryl was pressured by producers to ‘have a change of heart’ about the jazz singer.
A show insider told The Sun: “Cheryl had axed Chloe despite Simon Cowell begging to keep her. It was only after the producers went to see Cheryl that she suddenly changed her mind.
“The mood in the audience as already pretty toxic and after that it looked like there was going to be a riot. Tensions were high.”
But this isn’t the first time Chloe has caused controversy – and we’re not talking about the time she tried to pull off a terrible wig for an actual head of hair…
According to The Sun, at Chloe’s arena audition, which was in front of 5,000 people at Wembley Arena, the singer completely forgot the words to her original song choice and burst into tears in what has been described as a ‘car crash’ performance, that didn’t make it to TV.
A source told the paper: “Chloe’s original arena audition was so bad it was never shown, but viewers would never have known as it wasn’t mentioned.
“On her original audition she started singing the Ella Fitzgerald song Misty but soon forgot her words, started crying and had to abandon it. It was a car crash. Unusually, she then had a private conversation with the judges at their desk for about five minutes.
“All the microphones were turned off. They were clearly consoling her and giving her advice.
“In the audition screened, the judges are pretending they hadn’t seen her since her Room performance. With a different song and a better performance, she got through. It’s clear bosses are absolutely desperate to keep Chloe in the show.
“The 5,000 people originally in the arena know she totally bombed — but viewers don’t.”
Looks like Chloe has her work cut out to turn things around…
