There’s been more rumours than we’ve had hot dinners about who will and won’t be on the X Factor 2015 judging panel, and now Demi Lovato‘s name has been chucked into the mix.
Yep, after rumours that Mel B had been axed after just one series and Louis Walsh basically already saying he’s out, it’s rumoured that Demi is in talks with her old boss Simon Cowell to join the judging panel.
And you know what? It’s a big fat YES PLEASE from us.
According to reports, the 22-year-old, who was on the judging panel for The X Factor US for two seasons from 2012, could be signing a deal for the UK series after speaking to TV bosses.
A source told Mirror Celeb: “Simon’s management phoned to see when Demi could sign her contract about a week ago.
“They both have busy schedules but she is planning to do it as soon as possible and Simon is eager to get the judging panel sorted.”
HOWEVER, before we get all ahead of ourselves, another source for the show is insisting that Demi is not in the running for the job, and isn’t set to sign a contract to become a judge.
Oh. Okay. THANKS. We’d definitely love to see Demi on the panel, so we’ll have to see what actually happens.
This year’s show is facing a massive shake-up, with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and SiCo being the only two judges whose places on the panel are reportedly safe.
Hosting duties have also changed, with dream team Olly Murs and Caroline Flack replacing Dermot O’Leary, who quit the show after eight years.
We’ll miss you, Dermy, but we’re excited to see what #Colly bring to the show.
Olly recently admitted that he’s a mixture of nerves and excitement as the beginning of the series draws nearer.
Speaking to Free Radio, he explained: “I can’t wait, it’s going to be amazing. I think nerves have definitely kicked in a little bit. I’m like, ‘Wow, it’s going to be quite an amazing thing to do’.
“Obviously at the moment I’m focusing on the tour, but I’m really excited. It’s going to be really tough for me and Caroline, obviously replacing someone like Dermot.”
YOU CAN DO IT, OLLY.
He did continue on to say having a duo present the show will bring ‘something fresh’ to proceedings, adding: “When we did ‘The Xtra Factor’, the show had never had a twosome do it before.
“It’s the first time the ‘X Factor’, the main show, has had that. So we are looking to bring something fresh, something different.
“Of course Ant and Dec are the pinnacles of that, and do it so well.
“So we just want to be ourselves and have a lot of fun and I think it’s going to be really great. I think ‘X Factor’ and Simon Cowell wanted to revamp the show, and do some new changes, and obviously we are delighted to be a part of it.
“I’m excited! I love TV and I love The X Factor’.”
Ditto, babes. Now, can we just have that announcement about who WILL be on the judging panel please, Simon?
