The X Factor 2015 has already seen more line-up changes than we’ve had hot dinners and it hasn’t even ruddy started yet, so it’s no surprise that today brings a new twist to the tale.
Despite winning love from viewers for being totally honest with her critiques, reports are claiming that Simon Cowell has decided to ‘axe’ Mel B from the show after just one year.
Yep, we know this is a rumour that’s been going around for a while, but it sounds like this could actually be it for Mel now.
We’ll tell you what we want, what we really really want. We want you to STOP CHANGING, X FACTOR.
After Dermot O’Leary decided to leave his hosting/dancing duties following eight glorious years on the show (to be replaced by the fab duo Olly Murs and Caroline Flack), and Louis Walsh hinted that his time as a judge was up, it could now be Mel’s time to wave goodbye.
It’s being reported (again) that SiCo has decided not to bring the 39-year-old back as the show goes through a huge revamp.
A show source told The Sun: “Bosses are evolving The X Factor and it has been decided Mel won’t return.”
Another insider added: “Simon and the producers are now looking for a replacement for Mel. If they fail to find a suitable candidate there is a very small chance she could be back.”
We”ll miss you, Mel!
This news comes after it was rumoured that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini would be adding a casual £500,000 to her paycheck to return to the talent show, meaning she’d be signing a whopping £2MILLION contract, according to the Daily Mail.
Speaking to The Sun, another source revealed: “Mel and Louis almost certainly aren’t re-signing, but Simon knows Cheryl is a huge draw.”
Meanwhile, Louis Walsh himself has dropped a major hint that he won’t be telling people they ‘look like a popstar’ this autumn, saying that he thought he was “done” with the show.
During an appearance on TV3′s ‘The Seven O’Clock Show’, he admitted: “My day job is as a manager, I’ve kind of neglected that. I want to get back to being a manager.
“I’m working with Shane Filan, he’s got a new record coming out, and I’m working with Hometown. I’d like to get back to where I started off… I never wanted to be on TV, it just happened.
“I’ve done 11 seasons. That’s a long time on television. I think they’re going to change it, go for a few new faces.”
As much as we don’t want them to go, we’ve definitely got an incline about who we’d like to see replace Louis and Mel on the show.
Can autumn just hurry up now please?
