It’s only April and our brains are already being turned into packets of Frazzles with rumours of who will and won’t be returning to The X Factor judging panel later this year.
Now, just days after it was rumoured that Simon Cowell was ditching Cheryl Fernandez-Versini AGAIN, it’s being reported that him of the high-waisted trousers will actually be keeping Chezza on the judging panel.
Please raise your hand if you’re ridiculously excited about seeing Chezza back on our TV screens every Saturday night.
*Raises hand, stands on chair, raises hand even higher.*
Despite reports that ITV bosses were planning something of a major shake-up for the next series, it seems that 31-year-old Cheryl’s seat is safe. HURRAH.
According to The Sun, 55-year-old Uncle Si is keen to keep the singer “at all costs.”
A source revealed: “They haven’t signed a deal yet but Simon, Cheryl and ITV are all on the same page.”
However, it’s not such good news for Mel B and Louis ‘Permanent Fixture’ Walsh, who are still on the “at risk” list.
The source added: “But that’s really bad news for Mel. She had a good first year but bosses want a new line-up.”
We have five-six more months of this AT LEAST, so you might want to grab some popcorn, some earplugs and a comfy outfit to see you through.
Maybe a small cushion to nap on when all the rumours get too much, as well.
Just last week, it was reported that Simon was looking at giving LouLou the boot from the panel, probably because he’s sick of the 62-year-old telling him he looks like a young *insert random celeb name here*, to be honest. Maybe.
Talk about the EX factor.
An insider told The Daily Star: “Simon Cowell is planning major changes for this year’s X Factor and one of them is getting rid of Louis.
“It is not 100% finalised yet but Simon knows he needs to make the show current and credible and Louis no longer ticks that box.
“It is hard for him personally as they are great friends. But the decision is all but done. Everyone in power has agreed it is time Louis went.”
Erm, OUCH. You look like an ex-judge, you sound like an ex-judge etc etc.
This isn’t the first time the music mogul has tried to get rid of get of Louis, having sacked him in back in 2007.
However, Simon, who replaced Louis with Brian Friedman, actually ended up begging him to come back.
As much as Louis sometimes makes us roll our eyes with his comments that kinda make us want to crawl under the table with a bottle of wine until he’s finished, we would actually really miss him.
He’s an X Factor legend, right?
Still, could this pave the way for a different Louis to go in another Direction (aka towards the judging panel)? Watch this space…
