Cheryl Fernandez-Versini definitely won’t be catching any Monday morning blues, as it’s been reported that she’s in talks to sign a £2 million deal to stay on the X Factor.
Fresh on the heels of the news that she smashed her way into the record books by nabbing herself a fifth number one single, the Geordie lass is said to be negotiation a WHOPPING fee to return as a judge in the next series of the show.
Kind of ridonculous when you consider that the 31 year-old ‘I Don’t Care singer’ is already making £1.4 million from the competition this year – not to mention all that coin she’ll be getting from her new number 1 single.
It seems that the former Mrs. Cole’s return to the talent show has been a massive success, despite some early teething problems while selecting her top six contestants, and is now rumoured to be in for a pay-rise to keep her sweet.
According to the Sunday Mirror, a source revealed that Cheryl and Mel B are both being targeted, because “They have successful singing careers of their own too, so they are in line for a pay boost to keep them both on board.”
Right, we’ll agree with Chezza being a successful singer with five No.1′s and all-that, but we can’t even think of the last time we bought a Mel B single – let alone it being a successful one!
But, maybe the real reason behind all this money business is that they’ve both proved themselves to be smash-hits with the public.
As the source added: “Normally negotiations don’t starts until after a series has finished, but it’s clear the two girls have been popular and are both keen to stay on next year.”
Even after the whole ‘mime-gate’ affair from the other weekend, it seems that you just can’t keep our Chezza down!
But it’s a shame the same can’t be said of her acts.
While Cheryl might be enjoying some public adoration her roster of acts is down to just one, with only Lauren Platt left, while Mel had to bid an emosh fairwell to Paul Akister this weekend – which included a pretty harsh snub of Dermot (which just isn’t on in our eyes really).
