Former Spice Girl Mel C reckons that Mel B is the perfect X Factor judge because she’s not afraid to speak her mind – even if she pisses off the contestants.
Melanie Chisholm aka Sporty Spice told us that Mel’s straight-talking personality balances out the lack of contribution from Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell.
“I’ve only watched the first episode at the auditions but I know Mel’s brilliant at it, I’ve seen her do it before,” Mel C told Yahoo Celebrity.
“She’s just the right person to do it because she’s very straight.
“They’ve got a good balance because Louis doesn’t really say anything, Simon’s just Simon and Cheryl’s very diplomatic and then there’s Melanie, who just says it like it is.”
Mel C even admits that Scary Spice (sorry, Mel B) doesn’t mince her words with her straight-talking advice but that’s just the person she is.
“That’s just her. She was called Scary Spice for a reason! I should imagine that Melanie’s just saying what she thinks.
“She’s not being a role. That’s just her – she’s very straight-talking. Sometimes it’s hurtful but that’s just the way that she is,” she said.
So if they spent six years together as part of the Spice Girls, together literally 24/7 on a never-ending promo trail, there must have been times where Mel B has said something to piss her off?!
“Yeah, all the time! Nothing specific but that’s like everybody, we all have people in our lives that play different roles,” she said.
“If you came to me with a problem, I’d be like ‘It’ll all be fine’ whereas Melanie would be like ‘B*llocks!’ You need all these different characters in our lives.”
Yep, we definitely wish we had a personal Mel B in our pockets!
Mel is currently working on the #poweringsmiles campaign with Duracell and Barnados. Duracell will make a donation to Barnardos for every ‘Like’ or ‘Share’ of a DuracellUK Facebook post or any Tweet using #poweringsmiles from now until Christmas Eve.
