Only The Young have admitted that they compromised their image to take part in the X Factor.
But fear not, the awesome foursome aren’t complaining, they very much embraced their X Factor journey.
Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Celebrity, Mikey Bromley, Charlie George, parisa Tarhomani, and Betsy-Blue English explained why they seemed to have changed from their first auditions to the live shows.
Parisa told us: “When we auditioned we were showing the judges who we were as a band and they were the ones who were letting us into the competition.
“So when we got the privilege to be on the live shows you have to exaggerate what you would usually do.
“We don’t have any regrets. Some of the things we wore we wouldn’t in every day life but that’s what makes it a TV show and that’s what we believe got us so far.”
“You’ve got to adapt to the show,” Betsy added.
Mikey went on to explain that the band’s new vibrant image worked for them in the setting of a TV show but wouldn’t necessarily in the world outside of The X Factor.
“You’ve got to think about the theme. You don’t go out and sing Blame It On The Boogie, a disco song, in dark clothes - it will not work,” he explained.
“So you’ve got to compromise being on a TV show. We wouldn’t wear those clothes gigging tomorrow but you do for a TV show it made sense”.
Parisa added: “It was a great platform as well. Now we’ve done The X Factor we’ve got the opportunity to really show who we are.
“It’s not that the show didn’t let us, she show was amazing, they gave us everything we could have wanted.
“We were just a bit more exaggerated in the show and now we are off it we can really focus on what we’ve been doing for the past two years.
“We picked our songs. Something About The Way You Look Tonight sounded like something we would release so we’re very happy.”
