X Factor’s Paul Akister: Louis Walsh Has Never Apologised For Snub

Despite proving himself to be an incredible vocalist, Paul Akister found himself leaving the X Factor over the weekend after landing in the bottom two with Jay James.

And to add salt to the wound, Paul found history repeating itself when Louis Walsh elected to send him home after previously dashing his dreams at the judge’s houses stage in 2013.

Speaking to Yahoo Celebrity, Paul revealed that Louis failed to apologise for any of his actions and wasn’t best pleased with his lack of indecision last night when he took to vote to deadlock.

He told us: “He’s never, never apologised. I still like him a lot, I think he’s amazing. He just has some funny ways. I would have liked to [have spoken to him afterwards] but he’d probably have just had a big smile on his face.

“He should have said who he like the best whether it was me or Jay. To be honest, Jay shouldn’t have been in the bottom two”

Paul also admitted that he had a sneaking suspcion that he would be leaving the show that weekend.

“It felt horrible. I knew it was going to happen. I knew from the sing-off,” he said. “I actually know I was going to go that morning, I told everyone ‘I’m definitely off tonight’. I just got this negative feeling, this negative vibe”

When it was announced that Paul was leaving, both he and his mentor Mel B were visibly upset – and even when the cameras stopped rolling, the two couldn’t control their emotions.

“We went to her dressing room and she just couldn’t talk to me because I was that bad. Brian Friedman came in the dressing room too and was congratulating me on putting 100% into the choreography because that’s not me – I would never ever, ever dance on stage ever and I did it three times.”

“Mel is amazing, she puts in loads of hours. She has a family and other people she could be seeing but she’s there looking after us. She’s amazing, not a bad word to say about her. People were saying that we had a fallout – absolutely not.”
