Right, everyone and their dog has been blamed for Zayn Malik walking out of One Direction midway through their On The Road Again tour.
Some say it’s Perrie Edwards fault, some blame Naughty Boy, others think it’s Simon Cowell‘s doing – we could legit go on forever.
However, a new name has been thrown into the mix and it has left us a little bit stunned if we’re being honest: nice guy rapper, Drake.
Yep, as in, actual Drake.
According to new elusive ~sources~, the 24-year-old’s music has influenced Zayn to wave buh-bye to One Direction’s catchy pop tunes in favour of hip-hop and rap, with an insider dishing: “He’s really been listening to a lot of Drake’s stuff, and has been inspired by his work and wants to channel a little bit of that.”
The source went on to say that the rapper’s lyrics that referenced One Direction were enough to convince the 22-year-old Bradford boy that his time in the fab fivesome was up as he tried to make a respectable name for himself in the hip-hop industry.
All we’re saying, Zayn, is no matter how many cool points you nab yourself we are still turning up front row at all of your gigs dressed head to toe in 1D merch.
Y’know, just FYI.
In other news, the remaining four members of One Direction gave an emotional performance at their first official gig since Zayn’s departure in South Africa on Saturday.
Having had the brooding one’s image digitally removed from the introductory video montage, it was reported that Louis Tomlinson took over the majority of Zayn’s high notes with an overwhelmed Harry Styles later admitting to the crowd: “I won’t lie to any of you.
“Tonight was a big deal for us, and what you’ve done tonight has meant so much to us.
“We love you.”
We love you too, babes, we love you too.
