It’s happened. It’s finally happened and we don’t quite know how to react. Zayn Malik has actually removed the One Direction reference from his Twitter handle and our broken hearts are legit weeping.
Yep, Zayn is no longer @ZaynMalik1D and THIS IS NOT A DRILL. It’s not even an April Fools’ joke and we genuinely don’t know how to react. Do we laugh? Do we do one of those dry laugh things? Do we just crawl under the desk with a bottle of wine and call it a day?
LET’S DO ALL THREE.
We knew this day was coming, but we were just really not very prepared, y’know?
WHY, ZAYN? DEAR LORD, WHY??
The 22-year-old Bradford Bad Boi is now just the normal ‘@ZaynMalik’, which means his Twitter handle now just looks like a normal 22-year-old’s Twitter handle, which we’re guessing is what he wanted.
As well as ditching the ’1D’ from his handle, gone is his wonderful “”just close your eyes and enjoy the rollercoaster that is life” bio AND the link to One Direction’s website.
This is all too much for one day. TAXIIII.
Luckily, supportive Directioners are all in this together, and are consoling each other with the help of the genius hashtag ‘#YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D.’
Responses range from being numb (us), crying (us), being kinda hysterical (us) and just general panic really (us).
Here are some of the best responses:
Someone please pass the tissues.
Errr, anyone else got Cher in their head now?
This sums everything up nicely. Well, not nicely but you know what we mean.
Where do broken hearts go? Tell us, ’cause we’re ten feet down.
If you need us, we’ll be sobbing in a corner somewhere. LOVE YOU ALL.
